Message November 25, 2017

Christmas Night

"When the fullness of time had come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption." (Galatians 4:4-7)

Message from Our Blessed Mother in Medjugorje,

November 25, 2017

Dear Children!

In this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Pray and seek peace, little children. He who came here on earth to give you His peace, regardless of who you are and what you are - He, my Son, your Brother - through me is calling you to conversion, because without God you do not have a future or eternal life. Therefore, believe and pray and live in grace and the expectation of your personal meeting with Him.  Thank you for having responded to my call."

The Great Mystery of the Incarnation

By Dorothy Day

Dorothy Day spoke about the inspiration for the daily life of those in 'The Catholic Worker Movement'.

"The great mystery of the Incarnation, which means that God became man that man might become God, was a joy that made us want to kiss the earth in worship, because His feet once trod that same earth. It was a mystery that we as Catholics accepted, but there were also the facts of Christ's life, that He was born in a stable, that He did not come to be a temporal King, that He worked with His hands, spent the first years of His life in exile, and the rest of His early manhood in a crude carpenter shop in Nazareth. He trod the roads in His public life and the first men He called were fishermen, small owners of boats and nets. He was familiar with the migrant worker and the proletariat, and some of His parables dealt with them. He spoke of the living wage, not equal pay for equal work, in the parable of those who came at the first and the eleventh hour.”

"He died between two thieves because He would not be made an earthly King. He lived in an occupied country for thirty years without starting an underground movement or trying to get out from under a foreign power. His teaching transcended all the wisdom of the scribes and Pharisees, and taught us the most effective means of living in this world while preparing for the next. And He directed His sublime words to the poorest of the poor, to the people who thronged the towns and followed after John the Baptist, who hung around, sick and poverty-stricken at the doors of rich men."  (The Long Loneliness, pp. 204-205).

Consecration Of Our Family

Almighty Father, we consecrate ourselves and our home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus who loves us with a tender and everlasting love. Strengthen us with your grace that we may return His love in the way we treat, respect and love each other.

Give us the strength and compassion to understand each other, wisdom and love to help each other, and the trust and patience we need to live peacefully together.

Grant us, through the intercession of Mary, Your mother and St. Joseph, our family too, may become a holy family. We ask Jesus to be the heart of our family and ask His protection and help in our daily lives. Heavenly Father, grant that our love goes beyond our home into the world so that we may do our part to build up Your Kingdom and lead all souls to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Prayer of Spouses For Each Other

Lord Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust. Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.

May we always bear with one another's weaknesses and grow from each other's strengths.

Help us to forgive one another's failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year.  Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other. Let our love grow to perfection. Amen.

"Dear children, as I am looking at you gathered around me, your mother, I see many pure souls, many of my children who are seeking love and consolation, but no one is offering it to them. I also see those who are doing evil, because they do not have good examples; they have not come to know my Son. The good which is silent and is spread through pure souls is the strength which sustains this world. There is much sin, but there is also love. My Son is sending me to you - the mother who is the same for everyone - that I may teach you to love, to comprehend that you are brothers. He desires to help you. Apostles of my love, a living desire of faith and love is sufficient, and my Son will accept it. But you must be worthy; you must have good will and open hearts. My Son enters into open hearts. I, as a mother, desire that you may all the better come to know my Son - God born of God - to come to know the greatness of His love which you need so much. He accepted your sins upon Himself and obtained redemption for you, and in return He asked that you love each other. My Son is love. He loves all people without difference, all people of all countries and of all nations. If you, my children, would live the love of my Son, His kingdom would already be on earth. Therefore, apostles of my love, pray, pray that my Son and His love may be all the closer to you; that you may be an example of love and may help all those who have not come to know my Son. Never forget that my Son, one and triune, loves you. Love your shepherds and pray for them. Thank you. November 2, 2017.

Divine Mercy in the Life of St. Maximilian Kolbe

"The Immaculata is as it were the 'incarnation' of Divine Mercy. Even the ones who have strayed farthest can be rescued by her."

Mercy is the fullness of God's love poured out on the undeserving, a mercy that saves us to friendship with God and neighbor. To receive such a precious gift, one merely needs to place unbound trust in God's mercy and to make a deliberate choice to perform acts of mercy towards others. As our Lord revealed to St. Faustina Kowalska, these works can be manifested in a threefold way: through Prayer, Word and Deed. The message entrusted to Saint Faustine reveals that such a gift of mercy received and shared is the only pathway of hope left for our fallen world.

Sparks of Mercy from Poland

Our Lord had said to Faustine that if the Polish people remained faithful to their Catholic heritage, a spark of mercy would flow out of Poland and envelope the whole world.

Many believe there is in fact a three-fold spark that has flown out of Poland, corresponding to the three great religious figures that Poland had produced in the century: St. Faustina, St. Maximilian Kolbe and Pope St. John Paul II.

A certain particularity can be detected in the public expression of their service to the Church. And so we see the life of Faustina deeply rooted in PRAYER for others, St. Pope John Paul II in the proclamation of the WORD as reflected in his many encyclicals and doctrinal teachings, while Kolbe's focus is on DEED as seen in his enthusiasm to win the world for the Immaculata through the printed word and especially in offering his life in exchange for that of another at Auschwitz.

Mary, Instrument of God's Mercy

The call of St. Maximilian's service to the Church began early in life, with a vision he had at the age of ten. While he knelt in front of a statue of Mary, she appeared to him holding a luminous crown in each hand: a white crown of purity and a red crown of martyrdom.

"Would you like to have these crowns?' she asked.

"Yes, Holy Mother, I would like to have them" he responded.

And so Maximilian would dedicate the rest of his life to wearing the white crown of purity as a celibate Franciscan religious and would receive the red crown of martyrdom on the vigil of the Assumption of Mary into heaven (August 14, 1941), on the day he died through lethal injection at the Auschwitz death camp.

This vision inspired Maximilian to dedicate his life to unveiling the mystery of the one he called the Immaculata. If Jesus is Divine Mercy incarnate, then Maximilian came to see Mary as the instrument through which that gift of mercy is given to us and the one who is most apt to lead us to it.

Why is Mary this instrument? Because her Immaculate Heart has been created from the first moment of her conception to be totally open to the reception of God's saving mercy on behalf of us all...
