Message of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Latest Medjugorje Message, June 25, 2016

"Dear children! Give thanks to God with me for the gift of my being with you. Pray, little children, and live God's commandments that it may be good for you on earth. Today, on this day of grace, desire to give you my monthly blessing of peace and of my love. intercede for you with my Son and call you to persevere in prayer so that, with you, I can realize my plans. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Medjugorje Message, May 2, 2016--Apparitions to Mirjana

"Dear children, My motherly heart desires your true conversion and a firm faith so that you may be able to spread love and peace to all those who surround you. But, my children, do not forget: each of you is a unique world before the Heavenly Father. Therefore, permit the continuous working of the Holy Spirit to work in you. Be my spiritually pure children. In spirituality is beauty. Everything that is spiritual is alive and very beautiful. Do not forget that in the Eucharist, which is the heart of faith, my Son is always with you. He comes to you and breaks the bread with you; because, my children. for your sake He died, He resurrected and is coming anew. These words of mine are familiar to you because they are the truth, and the truth does not change. It is only that many of my children have forgotten it. My children, my words are neither old or new, they are eternal. Therefore, I invite you, my children, to observe well the signs of the times, to gather the shattered crosses and to be apostles of the revelation. Thank you.

Medjugorje-June 1981

Thirty-five years ago this month, the first of the alleged apparitions took place in Medjugorje. The study of the events in Medjugorje is in the hands of the Church in Rome; the world continues to wait for an official announcement concerning what took place on Apparition Hill in Medjugorje in June 1981. The story is well known-five children were chosen to be present for the apparitions of the Blessed Mother. Our Lady Queen of Peace; and Our Lady continues to appear with private and public messages. Until the Church makes an official announcement, we will refer to the apparitions as "alleged apparitions."

The words given to all people do not reveal anything new in regards to Scripture or the teachings of the Catholic Church. Our Lady is giving words that lead all of us to Her Son, Jesus, and God, our Father. As our Mother, she is praying. There are five basic categories of the messages: receiving the Eucharist often, participating in the sacrament of Confession at least once a month, reading the Bible daily and becoming familiar with Scripture, fasting on Wednesday and Fridays (on bread and water if possible) and praying, especially the Rosary, on a daily basis. These are five very important ways to become more knowledgeable about our faith and its practices that bring us into a deeper relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

When one visits Apparition Hill, it is a traditional practice, initiated by Father Jozo [pg. 7], that five stones be taken home. On each stone can be written one of the five categories as a reminder that will help bring us closer to Jesus and the Father through Mary. Some who are unable to make the pilgrimage to Medjugorje have been given five stones from Apparition Hill by pilgrims when returning home. The five stones remind us of what we should try to to do bring ourselves closer to the Son and the Father through Mary's concern for our souls. Pilgrims and the recipients of the stones change their way of living and praying.

Recently, I had a gentlemen tell me he was making the trip to Medjugorje because he noticed a change in people who had made the pilgrimage, and he wanted to experience Medjugorje. Many returning pilgrims attend daily Mass, participate in Confession more often, read the Bible in a more reflective manner, and pray the Rosary more often, trying to do it daily. Fasting seems to be more difficult, but many are attempting to fast regularly.

The message, if lived faithfully, bring about changes in all aspects of our lives, beginning with our spiritual life. It is well known when our spiritual life improves, our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit deepens, and our emotional and physical lives improve. God works in our lives in awesome and surprising ways. We must be open to receive what God has for us!

Hopefully, we have been living the ways of a good Catholic, so the messages of the alleged apparitions are reminders by our Mother to improve and be better children of our Father and have a better relationship with our brother, Jesus. Mary Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Father Kiel recently returned from Medjugorje, He will hold a service of healing at St. S. Michael the Archangel Church, 12 Robinson Street, DuBois, PA at 6 PM, Sunday July 17th.

"Fasting is to God's Mercy as rain is to the Earth"  O.B.M. Queen of Peace

In Recent years the number of priests worldwide has remained steady at around 480,000: the same number of priests we've had since 1974. In that time frame the number of Catholics has more than doubled to over two billion, so today we have fewer priests per Catholic.

Medjugorje Message, May 25, 2015

"Dear children! Also today I am with you and with joy I call all of you: pray and believe in the power of prayer. Open your hearts, little children,  so that God may fill you with His love and you will be a joy to others. Your witness will be power and everything you do will be interwoven with God's tenderness. I am with you and I pray for you and your conversion until you put God in the first place. Thank you for having responded to my call."

The Heart of the Good Shepherd reaches out to us, above all to those who are most distant. There the needle of his compass inevitably points, these we see a particular "weakness" of his love, which desires to embrace all and lose none. Pope Francis

Pray for All in Trouble

Most blessed Virgin, in our life of glory, remember the sorrows of earth.  Look with kindness on those who suffer, who struggle against difficulties, who drink unceasingly the bitterness of this life.  Have pity of those who love each other and are separated. Have pity on the lonely heart. Have pity on the weakness of our faith. Have pity on the objects of our affections. Have pity on those who weep, those who pray, those who fear.  Obtain for all, hope and peace. Amen

Message, June 2, 2016 - Apparitions to Mirjana

"Dear children, As the Mother of the Church, as your mother, I am smiling as I look at you: how you are coming to me, how you are gathering around me, how you are seeking me. My comings among you are proof of how much Heaven loves you. They indicate to you the way to eternal life, to salvation. My apostles, you who strive to haue a pure heart and to have my Son in it, you are on the good way. You who are seeking my Son are seeking the good way. He left many signs of His love. He left hope. It is easy to find him if you are ready for sacrifice and penance-if you have patience, mercy and love for your neighbors. Many of my children do not see and do not hear because they do not want to. They do not accept my words and my works, yet through me, my Son calls everyone. His Spirit illuminates all of my children in the light of the Heavenly Father, in the unity of Heaven and Earth, in mutual love-because love invokes love and makes works more important than words. Therefore, my apostles, pray how betrayed or wounded, it is here because it comes from the Heavenly Father. Pray for our shepherds so that in them you may see the greatness of the love of my Son. Thank you.

"A Current of Grace"

In a May 29, 2004 Vespers homily, St. John Paul II said "Thanks to the Charismatic Movement, a multitude of Christians, men and women, young people and adults, have rediscovered Pentecost as a living reality in their daily lives. I hope that the spirituality of Pentecost will spread in the Church as a renewed incentive to prayer, holiness, communication and proclamation." Pope Benedict added his support in a 2008 address to participants in a meeting organized by the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships: "We can, therefore, rightly say that one of the positive elements and aspects of the Community of the Catholic Charismatic R enewal is precisely their emphasis on the charisms or gifts of the Holy Spirit and their merit lies in having recalled the topicality in the Church.

Recently, Pope Francis elevated papal encouragement of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal to a new level. Before a crowd of over 50,000 gathered in Olympic Stadium in Rome for the thirty-seventh Convocation of Renewal in 2014, Francis exhorted the attendees by saying, "I expect you to share with everyone in the church the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit." He said the Renewal was "willed by the Holy Spirit to be 'a current of grace'.

Pope Francis encouraged involvement in the Renewal again in 2015, before a group of over 1,000 priest and bishops gathered in Rome for the Third Annual Worldwide Priests Retreat. He said, "I ask each and all of you that as part of the current of grace of Charismatic Renewal you organize seminars of Life in the Spirit in your parishes and seminaries, schools, [and] in neighborhoods, to share baptism in the Spirit...it is catechesis so that it produces, by the work of the Holy Spirit, the personal encounter with Jesus who changes our life."

Pope Francis identified the-Renewal-as a "current of grace," rather than merely a movement within the Church. When he spoke in 2015 to the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships in the twenty-fifth anniversary of its pontifical approval, Pope Francis issued an invitation to those touched by the Renewal to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary with him in Rome in 2017.

He said, "Let it not be a celebration of a 'movement,' which you are not! Let be the renewal of Pentecost for Church and the world.

One of the main purposes of the indwelling of The Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is for fruit bearing, building up the body of the church.

"We must grow in passion for evangelizing. If we must sacrifice something, let's sacrifice organization and move forward with the mysticism of saints." Pope Francis

Lakota Sioux Veterans and Spirituality

... the book, The Spiritual Journey of a Brave Heart.

by Basil Brave Hart.

As it is said by people who are about to expose a phony, "I knew him back when." I knew Basil Brave Heart as a youngster, a talented high school athlete at Holy Rosary Mission back in the 1940s and 50s. He was a good guy, popular with the guys and girls, but as crazy as any of us, and I thought he was a darned fool for leaving school in his junior year to join the US Anny and go off to fight in Korea.

I had not seen him since then, and was invited by him to speak to the graduation class at the school on the northern Cheyenne Reservation where he was Principle. I was impressed by him, but "Spiritualist?" No way. Not the guy I knew as Basil Hart back then.

How wrong I was. For I read his book and was drawn deeply into it. I was impressed and inspired - impressed with the excellence of his writing and inspired by the depth of his spiritual experience. His story takes the reader through his youth-personal things I didn't know about his growing-up years, then experience in the Korean War,although he doesn't dwell on gory action or heroic courage. Then he tells of his personal bouts that many of us know of what alcohol does to relieve pain and memories even as it drags us to depth of loss and despair. And finally he tells of finding Lakota spirituality that was around him all along - and in that spirituality of finding relief and peace and finding himself.

It is not a "Hallelujah-I'm saved"! kind of book, but simply a story he felt compelled to share; and I am so glad he had shared it; for I have a new admiration for Basil, a new appreciation of his life, and new hope for myself, There is another veteran I got to know and appreciate later - not personally, but through words of his that I read.

...a young veteran of the Vietnam War. He was athletic trim and quiet. His name was Charles "Chuck" Richards, a person I was warned to never mess with. Much later I read an interview Chuck Richards gave Father Don Doll SJ, in his 1994 book, Vision Quest, and it moved me mightily. Suddenly I thought I would like to meet this Chuck Richards and thank him for his sacrifices and for his inspiration, Here in part is what he had to say in his interview: "when you take a life in war? Your spirituality goes first, then your sanity. Without spirituality you kill without thought or reason, You become God. Power is the rifle and bayonet you carry, the grenades you throw, You make life and death happen. Why, if there is a God, does he allow that carnage, that destruction, the starving children? Why

It's hard to come back to the straight path, but once we find our spirituality, things start mellowing out. Then we can pray.

'Since I straighten up my life, I tell people about those who made the supreme sacrifice. The vets come to me. I am not a doctor. I'm a Nam vet just like them, but they talk, lay bare what they held inside these twenty-five tears. They break down and cry. I hug them and I cry because I've been there, too.''--

In his interview, Richards never mentions that he is recipient of the Silver Star, and two Bronze stars for bravery in combat and three Purple Heart medals for wounds he received. Or that he is a member of the Lakota Red Feather Society for warrior heroism. He also founded the Oglala Lakota Vietnam Veterans Association.

These two Lakotas - Basil Brave Hart and Chuck Richards - are my kind of heroes and people I admire as truly spiritual men. Pilamayaye (Thank you); Basil and Chuck Charles "Chuck" Trimble

Father Ralph A.Diorio, Jr

To offer oneself in total surrender to God is the vocation of each Christian--married, single, priest or religious--but to act in the very person of Christ, in Persona Christi, is the privilege and burden of his priest. Each Priest must offer himself as a sacrifice. Fr. Ralph A. DiOrio, Jr. does this with great humility and love for  Christ and his people. Fr. Ralph emphasizes that "The Hour of healing is here for us". "The healing of man occasions nothing more but an event which creates faith. The gospel produces love and concerns for everyone. To heal, not to injure... To help, not to hurt...To strength and sustain...With patience, compassion and trust."
